WE’RE BAAAAAACK!!!

Hello everybody its been so i want to say thanks to all the loyal fans for sticking with us while we were gone but were back now and better than ever. This years filled with events we’ll attend and host and you guys will be able to be a part of it all. We’ve got new sections and members to the crew so be on the look out for new material. Big thanks again to all the loyal fans who stuck around and i promise you all this year will be filled with so much badassery that you wont be able to handle it!

PLAYSTATION ALLSTARS OFFICAL ROSTER UPDATE:

Lately Sony’s been releasing characters that’ll join the battle in Playstation Allstars Battle Royale this November, heres an update on who you can choose when the time comes to battle it out:

Kratos:

The God of War was one of the main characters to be announced and it was no surprise seeing that hes Playstations biggest baddass after killing everybody on his way to the top of Mount Olympus.

Sweet tooth:

The king of chaos was also an main character when Playstation Allstars was announced but instead of destroying anyone that gets in his way with his ice cream truck he jumps into the battle with his trusty chainsaw ready to cut some limbs off!

Radec: A surprising entry to me was Killzone’s Helghast leader Radec but what ive seen from his gameplay is that he’s packing heat and isnt afraid to blow shit up!

PARAPPA THE RAPPER:

Im still on the fence about this one, although he is a Playstation classic character can he keep up with the big dogs? (pun intended) Just remember PaRappa “Punch Kick its all in the mind”.

SLY:

The only Raccoon to ever rock a pimp cane has joined the battle, with quick stealth moves Sly looks like a worthy fighter to choose.

FAT PRINCESS:

The last character i ever expected to make the cut, Playstations very own Fat Princess comes to the brawl and who knows maybe she’ll eat everybody else to make it to the top.

BIG DADDY:

Being a huge Bioshock fan when i heard the little sisters voice and Big Daddy’s groan at the E3 conference i got chills and for a second could’nt believe it but it was official, The guardian of all little sisters has come to whoop some ass.

DRAKE:

You cant say Playstation with out thinking of Uncharted so it was no surprise that the infamous treasure hunter Nathan Drake was picked to join the roster. Itll be interesting to see how he will be able to keep up without having to pull out his guns and blast his opponents.

TORO INOUE:

Some of you might not recognize this lovable cat right away and some of you might after his guest slot in Street Fighter X Tekken but hes originally from Sony’s marketing department in Japan. Itll be fun to see how he can stand up to the bigger challengers hell have to fight.

HEIHACHI MISHIMA:

Tekken’s ass kicking grandpa made his way into the battle and like always is ready to bring it to anybody that gets in his way, its nice to see that Playstation is picking characters we wouldnt expect to see.

COLE MACGRATH AND EVIL COLE:

Another big character from the Playstation world joins the fight and he has 2 forms, you can choose from Cole MacGrath the civilian turned super hero that saves the world from giant electrical monsters or his evil side that kicks ass and can throw you all the way across the screen with his pinky. The choice is yours!

JAK AND DAXTER:

Jak and his companion Daxter have always been a badass duo and Playstation classic since their debut on the Playsation 2 so seeing them in allstars was a must. Jak and Daxter are a long range team as Jak will be able to use his arsenal of weapons and turn into his light and dark forms which extend his punch and kick abilities.

SPIKE:

Some of you might remember this little guy from a game we have’nt heard of in awhile, Ape Escape. Im just hoping he brings some of his monkey friends to the fight so we can monkey around.

DANTE:

Now before you get excited its not the Dante we are used to seeing its the Dante we are yet to know about. In a surprising twist Playstation has decided to use the Dante from D.M.C the new game release due to drop later this year. I dont know about yall but im not feeling the black hair but who knows maybe the black hair might give him some kickass ability weve never seen.

SACKBOY:

Now even tho this one was a dead give away i really want to see how the cutest thing ever to come out of Playstation will be able to defend him self against pro fighters and warriors like Heihachi and Radec.Theres now building your way out of this fight Sackboy so show us what you got.

RATCHET AND CLANK:

Veterans of the Playstation world, Ratchet and Clank team up once again to whoop some intergalactic ass against enemies they’ve never faced before. This classic duo will make an epic rivalry against Jak and Daxter, i can see it now the hours spent arguing on whos the better team.

RAIDEN:

The worlds most badass cyborg takes a break from seeking Revengeance to join the battle and brings his fast paced deadly combos with him.

SIR DANIEL FORTESQUE:

As a kid i used to love playing Medievil so when i heard Sir Daniel was added to the official roster i freaked out. Who doesnt love a kick ass skeleton in shining armor?

NARIKO:

Another unexpected addition was Nariko from Heavenly Sword.

PS VITA UPDATE V.1.80 TIPS:

Finally the long awaited PS Vita update is here!!! The new update came with some cool new features but the only one everyone cares about is that we can finally play our PS1 games on our Ps Vitas. Theres is one same flaw with the North American release, Europe got 129 PS1 titles they can play as of today while North America has about 9. Vita owners can either download Ps1 titles straight from the store on their Vita or copy them straight from there PS3’s.

The easiest way to get some PS1 games on your vita is straight download but if you want a few more titles that arent on the store PS3 transfer is the way to go. PS3 transfer is kinda tricky, first go to the store and download the PS1 game you want to transfer even if you have it already installed into your PS3 you still need to download it again, when done downloading DO NOT install it to your PS3 just hook up your ps vita, open the content manager and bingo you have your favorite PS1 games on your vita. One last quick piece of advice when you start up your PS1 title the game doesnt fill the screen all the way this is an easy fix just put your figure on the screen for about 5 seconds and the options will pop up. Hope these tips help out, keep gaming my friends.

E3 2012 COVERAGE: ASSASSINS CREED 3: LIBERATION (PS VITA)

Earlier this year Assassins Creed 3 was announced and has been one of the most anticipated games of the year alongside with Halo 4 and Resident Evil 6 but PlayStation hit us with some big news at their conference when they announced that Assassins Creed 3 would be heading to the PS VITA the same day as its system release in Assassins Creed 3 : Liberation. We had heard months before that the PS VITA would be getting a Assassins Creed title but nothing was confirmed till the announcement at E3 where we learned that we would be playing as the first female assassin Aveline.

In AC3: Liberation you play as Aveline a french female assassin of African decent in New Orleans, her story takes place at the same time as the system version of AC3 as they are both staged after the French and Indian War. Aveline is in no way connected to Desmond Miles the previous user of the animus so we are guessing there will be a new character accessing Aveline’s memories. The game will still feel and handle like any other Assassins Creed but will utilize the PS VITA’s front and back touch sensor’s for tasks like pickpocketing and killing your enemies in a flashy finishing move. Assassins Creed 3 and liberation will both drop on October 30 but Im sure we’ll learn more about this title before its release.

In addition to the announcement of this hand held title PlayStation also announced that in honor of Assassins Creed making its way to the PS VITA they would be releasing a special limited edition PS VITA Assassins Creed bundle which would come with a crystal white PS VITA and the game AC3: Liberation for the small price of $299.99! Ill be grabbing both titles upon release so expect major reviews for now let us know what you think about this game: Should Assassins Creed venture onto handhelds once again or should it just stick to system releases?

E3 2012 COVERAGE:

PLAYSTATION ALL STARS BATTLE ROYAL -

So E3 was earlier this month and we saw some amazing stuff one of may favorites was this title your about to read about Playstation All Stars Battle Royal. If you havent heard of this title youve been living under a rock cause its been all over the gaming universe buzzing with mad excitement. Playstation All Stars brings you all your favorite Playstaion characters into one game to brawl it out in a Super Smash Bros. type of game style. Up to four players can fight on one screen and you can even battle PS3 to PS vita through its cross system gameplay option. All Stars was rumored for some time and at E3 all the rumors were silenced when it was made official and fans were amazed when Playstation gave us the first taste of whats to come with this title.

Playstation all stars has alot of similarities to Super Smash but it doesnt copy the format exactly, in All Stars you can choose from many Playstion characters such as Sly from Sly Cooper, Kratos from God of War, PaRapper the Rapper and the recently announce Drake from Uncharted and Big Daddy from Bioshock just to name a few. Third party characters have been rumored to join the fight but none have been officially announced, some rumored have been Ezio from Assassins creed, Laura Croft from Tomb Raider (i know what your thinking Tomb Raider is a Playstation exclusive but its new release coming up this year is cross plateform) and John Shepard from Mass Effect, although none have been made permanent additions to the game these are the strongest choices by the game’s producers to be added later on. The list of characters is huge and the producers plan on making it even bigger so expect a vast variety of characters to fight with.

Another difference from Super Smash is that the stages you fight in will not be themed by just one video game but two, the stages confirmed that have been shown feature game mash ups such as Little Big Planet with Buzz, God of War with Patapon, Ratchet and clank with God of War and Jak and Dexter with Hot Shots Golf. As you battle against others the the characters that theme the stage will interact with each other as well, for example weve seen a stage where Hades from God of War battles it out with an army of Patapons and as they fight their attacks bounce off and inflict damage on the players. While in battle each characters earns orbs to fill up a 4 stage special meter, these special meters can be usefull as they can change the tide of the battle. At E3 we saw a few specials, one where Fat Princess(Fat Princess) jumps on a golden chicken and charges at all players for a one hit kill, another was Sweet Tooths (Twisted Metal) stage four where Sweet Tooth jumps in to his transforming ice cream truck and destroys his competition with a giant machine gun.

Playstation All Stars looks amazing and is a big title everybody will be waiting for lucky for us we found out that we wouldnt be waiting for this title for long as Playstation has announced its release date for October 23rd. MORTAL KOMBAT 9 REVIEW:

FINISH HIM!!! Last year Mortal Kombat made its triumphant return with its 9th release in the franchise and was able to win Fighting game of the year. This year the award wining fighting game made its way to the ps vita jam packed with all the dlc’s and exclusive content. One tournament, 32 fighters, the fate of earth realm let the kombat begin!

All the characters from the system release are back plus all four dlc characters (skarlet, kenshi, rain, and freddy krueger) and kratos the ps exclusive. It also comes with 16 new alternate outfits and various mini games that use the ps vita features such as the touch screen, tilt and shake. One new feature you can use any time is touch screen fatalities which are awesome and simple to use just swipe the directions of the fatality and enjoy. A big part of mk9’s success was its challenge tower well its back and to make things even better theres now a bonus challenge tower exclusive to the vita. In the bonus challenge tower youll use the ps vita features in challenges like test your balance and test your slice, some of these challenges can get really annoying and will test your skill but feel so rewarding when you completing them. The story and krypt make a return as well and nothing has changed its exactly the same as the system version.

Mortal kombat on the ps vita is awesome, sure the graphics are maybe a 8 out of 10 but you need to know that they had to lower the graphic quality in order to keep the speed and x rays in the game. Over all i give this game a 9 out of ten it was fun on the ps3 and its even better on the go. So get together and help raiden save earth realm but remember to stay 8bit.

NINJA GAIDEN: SIGMA PLUS

Hey guys and gals, Ready for some Ninja Reviews… But I must warn you, I am not responsible for Flying Shurikens, Ninpo Magic and a Man with a Purpose and Blade killing off Spawns of Villains. Yes we talk about Ninja Gaiden: Sigma Plus for PS Vita.

This game surely captures that ninja feel to style gameplay, if you are a fan of Ninja Gaiden then you know how much of a Boss Ryu Hyabusa is. For those of you new to the series, we welcome you to a gory and action packed addiction. The graphics behind this game are actually satisfying, they have a few minor defects like Blood Spills and Far Away Surroundings that look a bit pixilated but the way the Vita handled the Magic and Gore from its bigger System Graphics was really good. That being said this game has 3 settings to playing being through its history, its always been a pretty challenging game to beat. We have Hero Mode in where before death you get unlimited uses of Ninpo and Attacks are Automatically Dodged. Nornal Mode in where the games just its regular self but easier to die, then you have Ninja Mode (Hard Mode) where if you do NOT play strategically and handle your potions right, you will not survive.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus starts off where our hero, Ryu Hyabusa is in his own village visiting his uncle Murai when it is suddenly attacked by the Vigor Empire and your Dark Dragon Blade is stolen by the Ninja Doku. Ryu then sets off into different places of all kinds of atmospheres like towns, caves, planes and even lava chambers. Your allowed to play a Fiend Hunter named Rachel, who assists Ryu and is seeking to kill her own sister Alma, who was turned into a Greater Fiend. Ryu is also helped by side characters such as Ayane, a mystic ninja that guides you and the legendary bladesmith Muramasa. Ryu is given different sorts of weapons that can be upgraded through using Yellow Souls and also can upgrade his and Rachel’s Ninpo Magic through Spirit Orbs you must find. This game has a little challenge in it by having to collect Golden Scarabs, in which they are spread through all 16 Chapters and its your mission to find all 50 to get Weapons and Items to help out.

I personally can give this game a 8/10 as well as IGN did because it was a Great capture from its PS3 Version. I beat it personally and feel so accomplished doing it in Hard Mode, although at time i did rage and just quit to play Mario to chill out, well with that said, game long and hard my friends and be sure to stay 8-Bit.

RAYMAN ORIGINS PS VITA REVIEW:

Hey questers whens the last time youve played a game so visually stunning that you wish it never ended and you can stare at its beautiful landscapes as well as talk to the crazy and funny inhabitants of its world? Well if that all sounds good to you then rayman origins is a must have. Rayman origins hit systems last november, but hit ps vita in February 2012. Rayman returns to its 2D, side scrolling ways in origins with amazing graphics, catchy stage music and characters youll love to see again from previous rayman games.

Besides being a visually stunning game, rayman origins is one of the most fun filled games ive played in the past few months. Each level kept me wanting more as I challenge myself to grab all the lums i could while trying to reach the end of each level as fast as possible on foot or on the back of raymans pet fly. Grabbing lums gets interesting on ps vita as you can touch the front screen to pop bubbles filled with lums and sometimes doubles your over all lum collection. I was amazed at how much detail artist Michel Ancel was able to put into such a simple platformer yet make it look so beautiful. I wish i could just stop and stare but there wasnt any time for that there were characters captive by dark lums and they needed my help.

While running through levels you come across female fairy characters that upon rescue reward you with a new unique power thatll help you along your exploration of others levels such as diving under water, walking on walls, flying. Youll also want to keep an eye out for secret areas where coins and lum cages are hidden, these can be tricky to find so always be on the look out for cracks on the floors and ceilings and giant leaf patches. When you collect lums you unlock new characters to play as and also new levels to explore such as a set of crazy “chase the treasure box” levels where one mess up and you have to start all over, these have grown to be my favorite levels and the most challenging. Theres also a “ghost mode” where players can challenge each other off and online to be the fastest or have the highest score of lums, this replaced the 2 to 4 player multiplayer mode that fans loved on systems but vitas features definitely make up for it.

Origins will keep you hooked with its vibrant colorful levels, lovable characters and challenging speed runs. I loved playing through this game and will keep playing through it till it gets old, which i know wont be anytime soon. Im so glad rayman is back and im sure you will be to, i give Rayman Origins a 9.8 for ubisofts amazing work on bringing a classic title back to life. So lets get out there questers and rescue some lums just remember to do it all 8-bits at a time.

SILENT HILL 3 MINI REVIEW:

In Silent hill 3 you return to the town of silent hill, a town where anything can happen. You play as the young teenage Heather and start off in the middle of the mall where you discover things are not quite as they should be and as you go on your journey you discover pieces of your past and where you come from as well as whats happening to the town.

Overall silent hill 3 is a great game with a great story and gameplay putting you in suspenseful and frightening scenarios as monsters push your heart rate and the puzzles keeping you on your toes. Its soundtrack is from akira yamaoka and i love it, it really suits the game and is amazing to listen to. Youll find this game a total mind fuck thatll keep you asking for more, i definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a good scare and is in the mood for a great game.

THE GAME IS DEVIDED INTO CHAPTERS RESULTING IN AN EMERSVE EXPERIENCE THAT WILL KEEP PEOPLE LOCKED IN MAX PAYNES TWISTED STORY.

THE GAME WILL RELEASED ON TUESDAY MAY 15TH 2012 AND I HAVE PRE ORDERED IT SO ILL BRING YOU ANY MORE INFO ON THE GAME AS INFO IS RELEASED.

The Simpsons Arcade Game Review:

Top of the evening readers! Would you guess what I found on PSN (for free! Thank you Playstation Plus). Yes, a blast from the past. The Simpsons Arcade game. The all time classic. I can very vividly remember being a little kid and my parents taking me to Chuck E. Cheese then wasting every last token they bought me playing that darn Simpsons game. It should be noted that I never beat it. No matter how many other kids I teamed up with to try and beat it we could never reach the mountain top. Its safe to say that the Simpsons arcade game ate up a very sizable portion of my parents income over the course of the first ten years of my life. And I enjoyed every last moment of it.

Fast forward about 13 years and there the game is. Right there just begging to be downloaded so it can take me back to the best years of my life. But first things first, I needed some friends to play with and join in the nostalgia. Enter Sweet Lue (KING_LUEE) and 8BITKIDD. We couldn’t find a fourth. No matter, we started having a blast anyway. The game is just as I remember. Same shitty graphics, same horrible voice acting, just the worst collision detection in the history of gaming, and don’t even get me started on how the whole game lags if one member of your party lags. Even with all that though I had more fun than I can ever recall playing it. And yes, we beat the game!

In closing everyone should play this game. Now the $9.99 price tag for non Plus users is a bit steep. Especially for a game you can beat in one sitting. It literally takes less than an hour but there is no denying the fun you will have playing it. This is what you call infinite replay value. I swear I will kiss the ring of the gamer who can beat the game without a continue. I’m under the impression that that trophy is impossible to get. I’m also under the impression that I will enjoy spending the rest of my life chasing after that trophy. Anybody wanna join in the chase?

Uncharted 3 Second Review:

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was the sleeper hit that put Naughty Dog back on the map. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was the full blown success that earned a perfect 10 rating, won game of the year, and was widely considered the defining title of the Playstation 3 entertainment console. That being said Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception had a lot of expectations to live up to. Rarely does a game ever live up to expectations like that, and the fact that this game did live up to its expectations and surpassed them made it a special experience for me to partake in. The characters, the story, the cinematic cut scenes and gameplay, the platforming, the treasure hunting, it just all comes together so beautifully. And there is a really good multiplayer too! This was more than just a game, it was an artistic triumph.

Let’s go to campaign mode first. There was so much to delve into and enjoy about playing the campaign. One of my favorite parts was playing as a young Drake and discovering how he met Sully. It was very interesting to watch the beginning of their friendship. Another high octane adrenaline filled part was escaping the chateau after it gets set on fire. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to play through your favorite Hollywood blockbusters? Wonder no more people. Just play through Drake’s Deception. It keeps your attention better than anything at the box office and is actually fun to play. Now I don’t want to ruin too much for you. Just know that you will learn a lot of things that you never knew before about Drake, Elena, and Sully in this latest installment of the Uncharted series. Yes Elena is back again better than ever, and Chloe too. Okay no more spoilers.

Now on to the multiplayer. Yes people. After all the hours you spend being amazed by the campaign mode there is a multiplayer aspect to enjoy. The multiplayer has a progression system, it has perks, there is a currency system, some of the most unique multiplayer maps I’ve ever seen and is so much fun to play. The community is really good too. You never have a hard time finding a game. Now the community isn’t like the CoD or Battlefield communities but there are enough people playing at all times. The last time I had this much fun playing a 3^rd person shooter online I was on the X Box 360 playing Gears of War. That’s not a bad comparison if you ask me.

In closing I want to do something a little different and take a moment to tip my hat off to the Naughty Dog team. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is a masterpiece that was created by a dedicated group of people who love what they do. It shows in the final product. They deserve every accolade for putting so much of themselves into this project and every other Uncharted title. The work here transcends gaming itself. This is the kind of game that when I have kids and they are old enough to understand it, I will hand it to them to play through because they need to know. They will finally know who this mysterious Drake is that there father is always randomly muttering on about. That’s how good I believe this to be. So enjoy people. Take it from me. I’m a member of a team that also happens to love what they do and put the very best of their selves into everything they do…. 8 bits at a time.
